Ysgubor Fawr is a large cottage in grand style that sleeps eight. This 19th century barn conversion has been expertly designed by local architect and artist Donald Jones. The cottage is perfectly set up for large families, or groups of friends, to spend time away together in luxurious surroundings. Ysgubor Fawr has previously been used for wedding receptions, family reunions and birthday celebrations. We welcome enquiries regarding this versatile property as we are always flexible and open to new ideas.
Ground Floor:
Entrance Hallway with utility and cloakroom leads to large open plan Living Room. To the right of the entrance hallway is the first Twin Bedroom that has fully tiled en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower. The living room has a striking stone-built log fireplace and a separate TV viewing area with 37” LED TV and DVD player. There is comfortable seating for 16 in the living room and a door leading out onto a beautifully landscaped patio area. The second Twin Bedroom, also with en suite facilities, is accessed from the living room area but also has an external entrance.
From the living room there are 3 steps up to the large Dining Room. The dining room has comfortable seating for twenty but has seated 40 for a wedding reception. With an open log fire and double height open-beamed ceiling the dining room truly is an impressive and imposing space. The dining room is overlooked by a painted glass screen and bay window at a high level, from a first floor double bedroom, and can be opened to accommodate string quartet for dinner entertainment. Door to evening terrace. The good sized Kitchen can be accessed through the dining room but also has separate entrance from driveway. The kitchen is well equipped with a six burner range, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and twin sink. It has previously been proven more than adequate for the use of external catering companies.
First Floor:
Staircase from living room leading to Gallery and writing area. From the top of the staircase and to the right is the first Double Bedroom with fully tiled en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower. This large double also has an exit via external stone steps. The gallery leads to the second Double Bedroom, where you can overlook the dining room through stunning painted glass windows. The second double also has an en-suite bathroom with over bath shower.
Oil fired central heating. Living room, dining room and kitchen have slate floors with under floor heating, all other rooms are heated by radiators.
Shared laundry situated in separate building with Dyson washing machine and condenser drier.
All cottages are fully equipped and furnishings are new or antique. Patio furniture and portable barbecues are available. Free logs and a welcome pack provided on arrival. High chair and Travel cot available on request.
